Who Is Omarion?
Omari Ishmael Grandberry was born on November 12th, 1984 in Inglewood, California. He has a younger brother who is also a singer. Omarion’s foray into TV started when he appeared in McDonald’s and Kellogg’s Corn Pops commercials as a child.
He then went on to become a background dancer for the group Before Dark. His interest in music started thereafter and he started to focus on creating music.
He joined the group B2K which was short for ‘Boys of The New Millenium’ in 1999. This is when he chose the stage name, Omarion. The group released singles and albums that became hits. The group broke up in 2004.
Omarion then ventured into acting in 2004 and appeared in many movies such as You Got Served and Fat Albert. He released a solo album the next year which debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Several singles from the album ranked high on Billboard charts. His second album was released towards the end of 2006 and it debuted on Billboard 200. The singles from this album also did very well on the charts.
He continued acting in movies and has appeared on TV shows as well. He has since released more albums and singles. He has also released two books; ‘O’ and ‘Unbothered: The Power of Choosing Joy’.
What Is The Name Of The Latest Omarion Haircut?
Omarion has medium-sized dreadlocks that go past his shoulders but are above armpit length. He has a middle part and his dreadlocks are almost the same size which makes them look really good.
If you want to attach synthetic dreadlocks then you can part your hair the way you like to wear it the most and then attach the dreadlocks for a cleaner look.
Dreadlocks have been around for a really long time and their cultural significance as well as the elegance they carry can never be underestimated. The length that Omarion has right now is the perfect length because it isn’t too long nor is it too short. You can leave it open or tie it in a ponytail.
Famous haircuts of Omarion
Omarion has never been afraid to experiment and express himself. Here are some of his popular haircuts.
Flat Top Haircut
He had an amazing flat-top haircut. This natural haircut did not have all the hair tips at the same level as some of them were left in their natural state. It adds texture to the haircut. The volume at the top versus the sleek look of the sides just blends so well.
Mohawk is an edgy style and Omarion knows how to do it well as you can see here. He opted for dreadlocks only on the mohawk area while the remaining area had an induction buzzcut. A style for those who love sharp contrasts between hair lengths.
He had the short bob locs two years back and they looked fantastic on him. Short dreadlocks are trendy and cool plus they add the element of fun. You can add silver or golden beads if you want to elevate the look.
Steps In Getting A Medium-Length Dreadlocks Haircut
If your dreadlocks have become way too long (perhaps waist-length or way past the armpit length) then perhaps it is time to get a haircut like Omarion so your locs go just past your shoulders. Here is a simple tutorial outlining the medium-length dreadlocks haircut.
Step 1: Section dreadlocks
Prior to cutting your dreadlocks, you need to section them off for easier cutting. If you have thick dreadlocks then it will be a challenge to cut a bunch of them together so it is best to cut those individually.
However, if you have thin dreadlocks then you can section them depending on how many there are. Keep the hair tie at the level you want to cut.
Step 2: Cut across
Use haircutting scissors when cutting dreadlocks and don’t substitute them with any other shears as it will be difficult to cut dreadlocks.
You want to cut across and ensure you are not pulling your hair forward, to the side, or upward when cutting. This will give you the same length dreadlocks haircut and it will look uniform.
Step 3: Take off hair ties
If you were cutting in sections, then take off the hair ties to see if all the dreadlocks are similar in length. Even if they are slightly different, it doesn’t matter because dreadlocks are cool in any form!
If you want a precise cut then clean up the haircut by trimming the tips of the dreadlocks to ensure they are the same level.
Step 4: Use a trimmer
This is for people who want a sharp hairline. You want to use a trimmer for cleaning the hairline so that the entire haircut looks amazing. When using it, make sure you are using it sideways when creating lines near your temple area.
Do this slowly so you don’t mess up. This is an optional step but the tidiness adds to the entire look and helps elevate it to the next level.
Dreadlocks have hundreds of years of history behind them which make them among the oldest hairstyles ever. Today, you can either grow your dreadlocks or you can install synthetic dreadlocks depending on your preference and how much patience you have.
If you want to freshen up your look then you can simply cut or trim your dreadlocks as explained in the tutorial above.
The trimming or cutting will give your hair a boost and if you see there are double-headed dragons in your locs then you can cut them off if they are not strong and if they are not contributing to your entire hairstyle. Do you think you will cut your locs by yourself?
